Pakatan Harapan Chairman, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim does not agree with Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin’s “forceful” approach towards anti-vaxxers.
“Don’t resort to punishment and threats. This is an arrogant method and we cannot accept this,” Anwar said to reporters at the officiating ceremony of Wisma SP Care in Hulu Selangor yesterday.
He added that the anti-vaccine groups have done no crime, and therefore should not be pressured.
“According to the law, they (anti-vaccine group) are not in the wrong. So how can we put pressure on them, when legally they are not wrong? That’s number one.”
“Secondly, when I say we should approach them, we should implore, coax them when explaining to them and answer their queries,” Anwar said.
The Port Dickson MP also noted that the anti-vaccination groups have their arguments.
“I do not support the anti-vaccination group but sometimes their arguments are strong too.”
