Hishamuddin: Govt’s Legitimacy And Confidence Vote No Longer An Issue After MOU

The Federal Government’s legitimacy and need for a confidence vote is no longer a question, following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and the Pakatan Harapan Opposition pact.

Astro Awani on Monday reported that Senior Minister, Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Hussein had reiterated his hopes for political stability to ensue in this country.

“The people will evaluate the actions of those who cause instability in this political climate, especially since Parliament has started.”

“I hope what is being worked on by the Prime Minister regarding this understanding will be well received by all parties.”

“Not through political consideration, but through the will to see political stability so that we can focus on more important agendas.”

He added, he has always been an advocate of political stability in this country’s political landscape.

“This stability is not for power but to help some of us who have been entrusted, to exercise our duties in various Ministeries and the country’s administrative leadership.”

The Federal Government and the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Opposition coalition have inked a bi-partisan memorandum of understanding (MoU) on ‘political transformation and stability’ on Monday.

While details were scarce, Ismail Sabri in a statement today said the historical collaboration introduced by the government would ensure outstanding governance in battling Covid-19 and economic recovery.
