DAP veteran, Lim Kit Siang’s daughter and son will contest in two of the safest seats in Penang in the 15th General Election (GE15).
Making the announcement this morning, Anthony Loke Siew Fook who is DAP’s Secretary General said that Lim Kit Siang’s daughter, Lim Hui Ying will contest in Tanjong.
Tanjong was won by DAP and Pakatan Harapan (PH)’s Chow Kon Yeow im the 14th General Election (GE14) which was held in 2018, after securing 87% of the total votes cast.
Kon Yeow who is also Penang Chief Minister will move to Batu Kawan, after its incumbent, Kasthuriraani Patto was axed.
The move to axe Kasthuriraani was criticised by many, although she later admitted that she accepted the party’s decision.
Apart from Hui Ying, Lim Guan Eng who is Lim Kit Siang’s son was also announced DAP/PH’s candidate for Bagan.
Guan Eng won the Bagan seat in 2018 after securing 86% of the total votes cast.
