Via a series of posts on Instagram, UMNO’s Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz has has slammed those who criticised him for flying abroad.
“You voted (for) the failed Pakatan Harapan (PH) government in the 14th general election. Since 2018, I was no longer a minister, I was not charged in the courts for any acts of corruption and abuse of power.”
“How is it that I can use the rakyat’s money to spend in France? Tell me.”
Nazri, the Padang Rengas Member of Parliament who recently re-pledged his allegiance to Prime Minister Tan Sri Mahiaddin Md. Yasin, also lashed out at his detractors who accused him of abandoning his constituency, as the country struggles to get Covid-19 under control.
“I was elected as MP for Padang Rengas in 1995. I have since contested in the same constituency for 6 terms undefeated with a comfortable majority.”
“It is a rural seat, 80% of voters are Malays, Muslims and village folks. So, don’t teach me how to serve and work for my rakyat in Padang Rengas.”
“Not for you, and I don’t care.”
In another post, Nazri boasts his popularity.
“Yes, I don’t have a social media (account). Why? Because I’m popular. Only today less than 6 hours (ago) 2 postings on my wife’s ig have been viralled by NST because they want to make money out of my popularity.”
“So tell me why do I need my own social media and “faking” everything about me?”
Nazri courted public backlash recently after he left the country for a holiday in France.
He later explained that he was in Framce to enroll his youngest son for school, and had followed all necessary procedures.
Haflin, his wife, has also been uploading photos of their stay there, resulting in further anger from the public.
