Warisan President, Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal’s attendance at a dinner gathering in Bayan Lepas, Penang tonight drew a 300-strong crowd.
Led Max Goh who is DAP Penang’s former Assistant Organising Secretary, 300 members also announced their exit from DAP, and submitted their membership forms to join Warisan.
In his speech, Shafie said that Warisan is offering itself as an alternstive to all Malaysians in view of the political deadlock.
He also added that Warisan is able to offer to all Malaysians in West Malaysia the multiracial and multireligious harmony practised by Sabah.
It is understood that this dinner at Sri Aman Hawker Centre is one of the first of Warisan’s tour, following the party’s announcement to spread its wings to Peninsular Malaysia on 17 December.
