After ruffling feathers with its debut in Penang, Warisan has set sights on Perak, drawing 1,000 new members at a gathering in AKS Banquet Hall in Ipoh tonight.
The group which was led by Dr. Balagopal, submitted their membership forms to Vice President, Datuk Junz Wong.
Junz in his speech said that he was touched and motivated to see such warm response.
“I am excited and honoured to attend Warisan Ipoh’s function to receive 1,000 membership forms from Indian and Muslim communities led by Dr. Bala.”
“Such overwhelming support from communities of all races- Malays, Indians, Chinese and even Orang Asli.”
“This is in line with the struggle and vision of Parti Warisan to build a nation regardless of races and religion.”
Junz also called upon more Malaysians to unite under President, Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal’s, combining forces from East and West Malaysia to bring real change to Malaysia.”
Sources close to Warisan said that with more members joining, new branches will formed in Negeri Sembilan and Johor soon.
Warisan officially launched its national chapter in Kuala Lumpur on 17 December.
